In the past I’ve worked with Katy Perry [on the cover of Teenage Dream] and with Lady Gaga on the animation in the video for Applause. Gaga is really tough. We filmed at Paramount studios and I’ve never seen anyone push themselves so hard.

This is true, Gaga really does push herself hard. Sometimes she pushes herself too much, example being the Born This Way Ball and even some of the shows on the Monster Ball were she kinda collapsed.

So Gaga puts all her effort into everything she does and I'm assessing Katy does not based on that statement...so that could be shade towards Gaga or shade towards Katy or both
