Best Disney "Princess"... is not a princess at all
Esmeralda is the best female Disney character ever imo. Mulan, Pocahontas, Belle and Kida are awesome too, but Esmeralda is so incredibly selfless. Nothing she does in the movie is motivated by her own selfish interests. She's amazing and every little girl should strive to be like her.
Justice!
God Help the Outcasts
I ask for nothing, I can get by
But I know so many less lucky than I
Please help my people, the poor and downtrod
I thought we all were the children of God
God help the outcasts
Children of God
No other Disney girl has a song like that.
Her bravery. She stood up against a very powerful man on her own
He threatens to burn her and she spits in his face
Probably one of my least favorite, but she's cool I guess. I just don't like her personality and she's like the total opposite of me. A bit pathetic really. Willing to give up her life for any man that shows an interest in her (ex, hades, hercules). Nah.
Ariel can't compare. She's just a spoiled brat who did everything because of her own selfish reasons. She saw a Prince and thought he was hot, and decided to leave her loving family to betray them and become a human. Like...

You need to watch that movie again because that's the complete opposite of what actually happened

!!!
A self-hating naive twit. Not a very good role model.

That's not what happens. In the context of the events, Ursula had been planning to approach Ariel since the beginning because Ariel had always wanted to see the human world. And she doesn't exactly do it for Eric, that's just an added incentive. Her father ridiculed her dreams and desires and felt betrayed by Sebastian so she decided to turn her back on a life she felt completely displaced and isolated from.
Eric actually has little to do with Ariel's choices prior to turning human.
Gave her soul to Hades to save her boyfriend Then sacrificed herself for Hercules Trusting Hades
Lame. She's terrible.
Meg gave her soul to Hades because she loved her boyfriend like you wouldn't
and it takes 75% of the film for Meg to come to terms with her feelings for Hercules. She says multiple times that she wasn't initially interest in him and thought his personality was just an act. She changes her mind once she understands that Hercules is just a nice guy and that what she's doing for Hades isn't fair. And she never trusts Hades at all. She makes it clear that she's only in his team because of the whole soul thing.
