It depends of the situation. If the brother/sister has lived with me all the life, of course I would love him/her. But If one of my parents have a new son/daughter, I really doubt it.

Of course! It's not their fault that that's how they were brought into the world, and my sister may be a pain in the ass, but I love her to death and I wouldn't be anywhere without her. As long as she was still the same beautiful person she is now, I'd love her regardless.

My exact feelings.

I don't love based on blood relations. I would love someone who's been there for me. Who I respect and who I turn to. If the half-sibling is that for me I'd love them. I don't believe in love by default.

But my youngest sister with a 11 year age difference is technically my half sister but I love her just as much as my "real" sisters. I don't label her as my half sister because that is kind of ****ed up in my eyes because she IS my sister

It pretty much all boils down to if you grew up/lived with the sibling on how you would label them I guess

If I found out my sister that I grew up with was a product of infidelity, of course I would still love her. My feelings for her wouldn't change a bit. But, if my dad knocked up some chick while he was married to my mom, I wouldn't claim that kid as my sibling. I wouldn't know him/her, would haven't grown up with him/her, so why would I need to get to know him/her?
