Fancy is literally her only success in the US. People don't think "oh I like this girls song" and start buying every feature they've done to the extent it goes #1 the delusion.

Why are y'all comparing the sales of Demi's debut album which was released in ~5 countries worldwide, had 2 singles (neither were sent to radio) to Ariana's album which had The Way, Popular Song, Right There, Baby I & Popular Song & was released everywhere worldwide in it's first few weeks?
Ariana has a bigger chance of smashing and being taken seriously atm (even though she's from Nickelodeon and looks like she's 12). Demi and Selena don't have much (good) buzz behind them right now. The Mariah Jr. thing is working for her.

Because NO offense but just because Demi was clueless enough to not know her career was being mismanaged for YEARS doesn't mean we can't compare her to other artists. Ariana was smart/lucky enough to have her debut era managed well and that's why she's coming out on top!

Maybe because once upon a time they were actually huge? ever thought of that? but they weren't for years and selling moderately for 6 years > selling huge in one year and a half.

Well... when was the last time the Jonas Brothers had a 2x Platinum single? Or the last time they sold +100k from a single? Selena and Demi at least can pass the Gold mark and even +100k with their flop singles, their latest albums are close to 1 million worldwide and their tours are doing really well...
