As far as I'm aware, most people (who weren't kidnapped and forced into it against their will) only go into that line of work because they have no other options they can think of. Add to that the fact that drug abuse and stuff usually comes into play when you're in that lifestyle, etc.
pop, saw the edit: I would say adult video industries have more safety and regulation than prostitution. For one thing, they require medical checkups and there's no such thing as a pimp for a working **** star (unless you count their agent )

AGAIN, you're generalizing.
I've personally chosen to "work street corners" and am perfectly happy. I'm not ashamed in any way about it. Why work retail and stress myself out for $7.25 an hour when I can "work" for an hour and make $250 for not even having sexual relationships with a person? ESPECIALLY when I am in college and can't dedicate 30+ hours a week to a "socially acceptable" job (and not even make as much as I would make in an hour with the type of work I do).
I'm not abusing any kind of drugs and test myself regularly along with being safe.
You just sound a little ignorant, hun.
and for the record, I don't stand on street corners lol. I have ads that I pay for per month that are perfectly legal and that's how I get clients.
