I know X-Men will be big but seeing all the other X-Men movies, it will be awesome for them to beat Captain. Their highest grossing movie was X-Men: The Last Stand which only grossed 459.4 million worldwide so I wouldn't bet on it. Same with Godzilla, I can't see it topping 700 million dollars. I mean, Man of Steel can't reach that feat despite being the biggest name of all superheroes. I think we're just overrating Godzilla's pop culture phenomenon. But hey, maybe it can be a surprise hit.
The real threats are Transformers, The Amazing Spiderman 2, Mockingjay and The Hobbit. In fact, all of these will outperform Captain. With that being said, Captain America 2 might end up as 5th highest grossing film of 2014.
