Actually I did read the article. In fact, I've known about them wanting to find the E.T. games for months. I understand it's for a documentary but the bottom line is that they did put all that effort and time into digging these up so they can prove that the games were really there.

Yeah? Time and effort goes into these things. Documentaries are supposed to be factual representations of events so of course they'd have to dig these up.
