Britney´s not had any promo for BJ that´s opposite to ARTPOP, plus she did not extol BJ to the skies like GAga did

No one really expected that much from Britney, and let's face it, the general public doesn't care about her as a musician anymore. As a celebrity, yeah, but her music career means nothing to them anymore. And she didn't hype it up the way Gaga did. Gaga acted like it would be the best album ever and it was a huge letdown. People have seen Gaga do better and thought she would be returning to the musical styles of The Fame and The Fame Monster after Born This Way "underperformed".

Because all her stans have become Lana 'stans'

Because she didn't cared for the album, because she didn't do 1001 things to promote the album even after it was obvious it was a flop and because she has more than 5 years in the music business and its now considered an icon.

No one expected BJ to be a success.

There wasn't years of hype surrounding it.

Duh.

She was careless about the album. It was her buzz album. So lets hope her next one would be emancipation of spears.

Nah honestly if she puts the effort in promoting the album, then she can get high numbers with ITZ/Blackout type of songs. Personal albums don't go well with her and the amount of times she had comebacks, she wasted the opportunity. But then I wouldn't mind, if she just released albums with no singles and proomo, but quality music.

If there's one thing you can't accuse Britney of, it's getting a "free pass". She always took the media bullets, since the very beginning, so her contemporaries didn't have to... In other words, the "necessary" scapegoat.

Britney was a really succesful artist for more than 10 years. Gaga was relevant for barely 3 years then she declined. Britney is a living legend.
