Michael Bublé mistook Kylie Minogue for topless model Samantha Fox
Quote:
If Minogue will forgive him for mistaking a cover of I Only Wanna Be With You by topless model Samantha Fox for one of the Australian singer’s hits.
The pair met at a Rod Stewart Christmas special in 2012, where Bublé said he was impressed by Minogue’s technical vocal chops.
“I say to her ‘You know what’s cool? One of my wife’s favourite songs is your song that they tuned into a Spanish song’ and I start to sing it and then realise it was Sam Fox who sang the song,” he said.
“Kylie, I am an idiot, I am sorry for doing that.
“It’s one of those things that I can be in the shower two years later and think ‘Oh f#@!’ It really bothers me.”
Bublé has sold out more than two million albums in Australia since his fans here gave him his first No. 1 record in 2003.
I love that Bublé is so well-versed in music from around the world that he knows the Luis Miguel song (which actually came out before the Sam Fox song, but whatever), but he does realize that the original version of that song is by Queen Dusty Springfield, right?
