Sorry, but I really don't buy into the whole racism thing.
However, my friend who is Japanese said she was SLIGHTLY offended just because Avril is basically an ambassador for Japanese culture in America (no one else bothers to pay respectful, sensible homage) so the video kinda pigeonholes Japanese culture into some weird category.
At the same time, though, Avril didn't do anything really "offensive".
Most of the things she did that were "Japanese"-like were Americanized (which is dumb, but not offensive).
She really could've done a better job. The video is just dumb
