Discussion: Why wasn't Britney Jean dragged like ARTPOP was?

Although Britney Jean flopped harder than ARTPOP did, it never received a fraction of the backlash Gaga or her album did (aside from the Sammi drag). Why? Did Beyoncé have something to do with it? Discuss and keep it cute.

I think everyone just felt bad for Britney maybe. It's not like she cares about the album anyway. Gaga is more dragged here because of the Monsters I'd say, and a lot of people don't like how she has been acting lately

Gaga was 5 years into her career. Britney was 15 years into her career. Plus Britney didn't really try to make hers a huge album/era unlike Gaga

People knew she would flop. It's also her 8th album. While that was Gaga's 3rd in a short career.

Because you can't expect a 32 year old veteran to sell as "well" as someone who debuted 5 years ago, still, it did worse than Britney's 7th studio album.

Gaga didn't hype hers to be "the best album ever crafted" either, I don't know why you guys keep saying that. Her fans might have, sure, but fans of every fan base hype up albums.

A few monsters dragging Katy doesn't explain why there were news publications writing articles on ARTPOP's underperformance.
