Whether or not, it comes across as such-were black women not beautiful before? Would they make a fuss over white women with an article like this? I don't think so.

Let's see how relevant Lupita is after being 15 years in the business. Her success is great, dont get me wrong, but Ive never been a fan of people overpraising someone. Her contribution to racial equality is by far not as impactful as what Beyonce has been doing since starting her career 15 years ago. We're not living in the 1950s where it was outstanding seeing a black woman on the cover of a magazine. People like Iman, Naomi Cambell, Alek Wek, Beyonce and others have highly contributed to what Lupita is fishing compliments for right now. Let's not forget people like Oprah or Michelle Obama either.
Lupita is a GORGEOUS human being, but the overexaggeration going on here is not funny anymore.
I'm sorry but Beyoncé is absolutely not changing what pretty is; and equating her to LUPITA is insane in that respect. Beyoncé completely conforms to the standard of beauty, and you'd have to be blind or stupid to not see that.
Lupita is annoying. Her name, face, hair, and 'LOOK @ ME! I'm a poor girl from africa! black ppl are pretty too! WAHH' sob story all bother me. Thank god she isn't relevant to teenagers & I don't have to hear about her a lot.
Except that Lupita comes from an affluent family and graduated from Yale. You sound like nothing more than a racist bigot.
Lupita was born in Mexico & went to Yale University, you definitely just made up that sob story about her being poor because she's from Africa, when in actually she probably came from a family that did well
That poster is brain dead sis, operating on limited life support don't waste your time.
Being a black SEX SYMBOL changes everything no matter how light your skin is. Lupita's body fits more into the European standard of beauty more than Beyonce to be honest.
You guys have to acknowledge that a standard of beauty isn't universal
