Shakira to be Honored with 'Hero' Award for Charitable Work

Singing star Shakira will be honored this weekend with a special Hero Award for her charitable activities with children.
She'll receive the Hero Award at the Radio Disney Music Awards this Saturday, April 26 at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE for her charitable work to improve the lives of children around the world through her work with her Barefoot Foundation.
The singer will also help present RDMAs' Heroes for Change Award, which recognizes three exemplary kids for making a difference in their communities. A TV special originating from the event, Disney Channel Presents The Radio Disney Music Awards, will air Sunday, April 27 at 8:00 p.m. on Disney Channel.
