At age nineteen, at the height of his defiance, a lifestyle unbecoming of who he actually is, Justin made a thoughtless choice to take some so called friends to score drugs. On the way, he was asked to pull over. He decided to wait in his car while these friends got out and at that point he notice something was amiss. What was to be a ride to pick up drugs turned into the shooting of an innocent person that ended in death. It also turned into
a 2nd degree murder charge and a life sentence without the possibility of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. Now, this kindhearted young man has now served over 12 years of his life behind prison walls at Louisiana State Penitentiary.
You should sign the petition if you agree that Justin Granier's life sentence should be stopped. He did not kill anyone after all.
