I've seen it so many times on this site and it's absolutely embarrassing. If you have an opinion then stick with it, don't jump on the band wagon when everything goes sour.
These are some examples:
It happened with the Can't Remember To Forget You. When the song came out people thought it wasn't that great but once the MV came out ,everyone jumped on the bandwagon of how this is going to smash.
With G.U.Y. most people on this site thought this would absolutely slay the charts and when the MV came out, ATRL went on lockdown and people pretty much "confirmed" she's coming back for the wigs but since it plateaued and it wasn't really taking off, people start backtracking even the little monsters saying "we knew this was going to happen", "It just isn't a great song tbh". Are you serious?
Now with that recent thiefyonce thread and the sis who made the thread, we see you and you backtracking
I don't really understand tbh. Why are people so ashamed of being on the other side? LOL do you really think backtracking will really save your backsides?
It's how stans operate. Stanning is all about who can brag about what's good and what's not. If a song is succeeding, people stan. If a song isn't, people hate it. When an artist slays, people love them. When an artist doesn't, people hate them. It's just how it works.
I'd say it has a lot to do with ego and people missing certain things in their lives, like love, friendship, or a social life, so they have to make themselves feel better by feeling superior because they stan a "successful artist". It's so transparent sometimes, too, because some go from artist to artist depending on who's number one. Those are the ones who need help in real life the most.
Opinions can change. For example, today I could have thought the weather was pretty good, but maybe I'm not here for tomorrow's weather.
It's the fact they change BECAUSE their song flopped or isn't performing as well. They live for the (ap)plausibility.

Maybe it's more of reality smacked em in the face and realized their opinion pr prediction was just a fantasy?
"the video SLAYS! queen gags comin 4 wigzzzz!"
*video is watched dozen times, sees how mediocre it really is, song starts flopping, realizes how generic the tune is, etc*
But you may be right though
Wouldn't you be able to see how mediocre something is the first time, though?
And how can flopping make you realize something is generic when generic songs succeed?
Looks like you're just flip-flopping for excuses. You're one of these "backtracking" stans, aren't you?

yeah, some stans ...
I think some stans of untalented (but successful/has-been-successful) artists only stan for the success instead of the live performances and music...
