It has nothing to do with "jealousy." Its got to do with taking the easy way out for everything.

Of course artists who take risks & do things to push the envelope and ruffle some feathers will be more respected BCOZ they are willing to risk it all for their craft.

History is a proof that artist who have pushed boundaries and not just settled for the "cookie cutter" image have gotten more recognition & acclaim. And it is quite evident, by looking at MJ, Madonna, Bey etc.

People are calling out Gaga & saying how Katy is outselling her & etc. AND? Its just 1 era. What about the 3 other eras that Gaga completely annihilated Katy & other girls?

Of course, you win some & you lose some. Gaga has underperformed, but who's to say that after this 1 bump in the road, she won't be back to dragging weaves across the floor like she did for 5 years? No one can predict anything.

Katy is a good pop act & that's that. There's nothing more to her. Some of us just like to stan for artists that are interesting & daring & unpredictable. Its just more exciting like that. That's all.

P.S. Since the Kats love to bring up Gaga in every thread, might I add that Katy has yet to beat Gaga overall in every single department. Gaga is still ahead of her. So let's not.

Gaga's personality and costumes are more innovative and creative than her actual music and videos though, which have been the same EDM-driven music since her debut.

She annihilated the other girls? *Looks at the year-end charts of 2011* Oh look, it's ADELE atop the Hot 100 year-end and her album did great! I hope Gaga is in the top 5, I mean...she spent 6 weeks atop the Hot 100! Wait.....not even in the top 15? What do you mean?

Also, if you don't like that Katy is "generic" then why are you guys so upset about her? Just let her be who she is, not every artist has to believe in Reverse Warholian Feminism to celebrate her own self.

Ok, that's subjective, but even if it is true, she risks everything. If she wanted, she could've keep doing the same "Bad Romance -esque" songs & using the same formula that got her success in the first place.

BUT she didn't. From TFM, she went onto BTW, and made a record about LGBT, when most of the world is homophobic. She risked half of her fan base. That's called daring.

If she wanted, she could still be snatching weaves, as it is evident how many ex-stans & casual listeners want the same "TFM Gaga" because she was unstoppable.

She is polarizing. She is not a people pleaser. And to me, and many others who stan for her, that's what we look for in our fave artist.

We want them to be bold & daring. Katy has earned her success and rightfully so. BUT her success is from a formula that she has been following since her debut, it worked, so she kept it going.

If it works for her, then Good for her, but some of us just don't respect that. That's all.

I mean the era that only had 1 #1 yet still outsold an era that had 5 #1s by 2 million more albums.

The era that had a 181 million grossing world tour from 98 dates compared to an era which had a 64 million grossing tour from 124 dates?

So what is it going to be? Take your pick.
