Anyone thinking that this means Nicki is better than Gaga, Nicki will have a better next era, etc. is insane lol. Let's never forget that Nicki is a rapper before anything else and Gaga is a pop star lol.
The writer simply wrote a piece on how Nicki's adaptability has allowed her to succeeded in ways she couldn't have had she stayed the same as Gaga has* (at least in the eyes of the GP) or continued to change rapidly as Lil' Kim arguably has. They only reason they were brought up was because many people made comparisons between them lol.
* That sounds kind of contradictory, but I am just saying that Gaga stayed the same by sticking with her over the top, "crazy" outfits for the majority of the time.

Also, Nicki had a transition process to where she is today while Gaga dresses normal every now and then lol. It's kind of a difference, but I do understand where you are coming from.
The fact that you guys think evolution equates to changing your outfit and putting on a different wig. That's not evolution, otherwise Gaga evolves every single damn day. Nicki went from crazy because Gaga made it popular to whatever she is now because it's what the public wants. That's pandering, not evolution. Evolution is staying true to who you are while progressing as an artist, something Nicki has yet to prove, and I'm not saying she won't prove that, but we have yet to hear new music. Nicki has always been about doing what people want and making money because that's all she cares about.
