Blackout is one of the greatest pop albums ever. I can listen to it from start to finish, without skipping a song. (well mostly).

It;s a masterpiece!

And it's definitely more iconic. From "It's Britney Bitch" to "VMA 2007"

overall, b2b is the better album but ''it's britney bitch'' has more impact than any album from that time lolll

Blackout. Back to basics is a great era but not iconic in any way.

i like Legend's modern twist on old school jazz, blues and soul and lets not forget her killer vocals.. back to basics over anything britney has to offer any day, time and place. the era is literally flawless!

Blackout and it's not even close. It was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame library, popularized the electropop genre which dominanted the late 2000's/early 2010's, delivered one of Britney's most iconic lines "it's Britney Bitch" and will forever be rememebed as the album that Britney released during her infamous meltdown whcih was one of the most coveraged celeb stories of that decade.

Definite no to the first three, and even the last point is shaky.

I don't think most people knew she had an album out during her meltdown.

Blackout, without having to mention all the reasons why.

Back to Basics is my favorite Christina album, though! Her last great effort, wish she'd get that artistry back.

Her 1st week sales were 290,000 & Britney had done absolutely no promo. (except for VMAs performance which was widely panned.)

The album set the record as the biggest selling digital album debut by a female artist in one week at the time.

And Gimme More peaked at #2 on the Hot 100.

so I'm pretty sure many people were aware that she had a new album out.

From public recognition, Blackout. But I picked Back To Basics because it had a much bigger musical impact.

290k means most people knew?

Gimme More went to #3 based on one week of sales and quickly fell because it wasn't a radio hit. Most people are not going to know an artist has an album out without consistent radio play.

The meltdown definitely overshadowed the release.

Actually tough. Blackout was/is obviously an incredible record and it's so random how good it is. Back to Basics was also obviously the best ride of Xtina's career - "Ain't No Other Man", "Candyman" and "Hurt" were all sued HEAVILY by me and her look that era was just about better than anything Britney has ever done.

BUT, I'mma side with Blackout because I'm a bigger fan and use it regularly to this day.
