It's not that bad and Avril isn't someone who deserves to get dragged, especially right now.

It wasn't bad for a specific reason though, it was bad because it was lacking any substance and the video was boring and went nowhere. I don't really get the blow-up about it.

A shame because I was stoked for it.

The song is horrible...the video makes the song a little better. But the song is trash, no excuses.

The "Hello Kitty" video tries to do nothing. Its laziness is demonstrated in the first 21 seconds, during which Lavigne holds a plush stack of cupcakes, shakes her hips, stares at the cupcakes, bounces her shoulders, and then, when she sings the line "Someone chuck a cupcake at me"… tosses the fake cupcakes at the camera, her lip movement not matching up to the backing track whatsoever. Cool!

It's kinda dumb but it's not that bad, and all the moaning about "cultural appropriation" etc is ridiculous anyway.

Do not even try to justify it. Song and video deserves to be dragged left and right and I say this as Avril stan. This is just embarrassing, she should release Give You What You Like asap, and then Bitchin Summer for a Summer smash. HK never should have seen light of the day, even in Asia.
