Unconditionally isn't a flop. It's platinum, it has entered the Top15 of Billboard and #1 in 1-2 Billboard Charts. So shut the **** up. It was a ballad and came after Roar's success.

Firstly, Unconditionally is not a ballad. Say Something, All Of Me, and Stay are good examples of ballads.

I think a lot of people rightly consider Unconditionally a flop because of their expectations of Katy and how her singles have performed in the past. #1 on ANY chart besides the HDS, Hot 100, Streaming Songs, or genre-specific chart (like Hip-Hop Songs but NOT Dance/Club Play Songs) is not a large achievement in the grand scope of things especially for a major player in the pop industry like Katy.

Just because a song is platinum doesn't mean it was a hit... a song can be platinum and still flop. Adore You is platinum.

Did you not even read my post? I just told you why, despite all of that, Unconditionally can be rightly classified as a flop. The expectations are a major factor in determining whether a song really is a "flop."

Mind you, I don't hate Katy, if that's what you're getting at. I own all of her singles save for WUIV.

Va Va Voom - She paid it DUST. It still went platinum (I think) on its own tho
High School - She should have promoted it more. The video was flawless
Love More - I guess it didn't do bad but I expected it to be HUGE
