Everett, 54, who is openly gay, says none of the stars matches his idea of feminine beauty.

Um, that's nice I guess. Why does he feel he has the right to push "his idea of feminine beauty" on everyone? He has every right to have that opinion, but he needs to stop getting all hot and bothered that not every woman fits that opinion. This is actually kind of disturbing to me that he thinks all these girls need to fit his view of femininity.

And they dare to say only straight men are misogynist my ASS. tHEY SELL sex, so what!? + I doubt anyone really wh*cks off to them when there's huge amount of p0rn out there, ppl don't buy their material for sexual purpose/ends, therefore they are NOT selling sex (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I feel like society thinks sex is the answer to everything nowadays and it's good that certain artists are called out for using it too much in their music. Some of the artists I stan for are rather sexual, but their music is good and even if it is sexual and I like the song, I don't approve of the overuse of sex in music today because it never used to be like that. I like artists that can say their inspirations were people with class like Etta James and they try and make music that is equally classy. I feel like the artists that use sex to sell their music all the time (not necessarily Bey or Rihanna or Gaga because I've seen all of them do non-sexual songs in their career too) are the ones that are truly in the business for the money and not their love of music, and it's really upsetting. All of the major pop acts feel that they have to have this "I don't care" attitude and act like they can do whatever the hell they want, and they're encouraging society to do the things they do. It's not necessarily any artist in particular, but their influence is so prominent in today's society that they need to be careful what they say and make sure they are aware that their actions could have consequences for them or for someone else. That's just my opinion.

Are you actually being serious? for a moment there I thought we had travelled back in time to the 1950's where woman were seen as nothing more than walking baby makers and cooks and cleaners
I just can't believe people are STILL complaining about pop stars being "overly sexual" and "showing too much skin"
So because a woman is sexual and promiscuous with her music and image she's only doing it for the money? How sexiest of you
The day sex is taken out of music is the day it becomes lifeless and dull

But on another note, all of these comebacks from members here about so and so being "old" are extremely lame.
And on a third note, this argument that "these days" sex is being used too much to try to sell music (or anything for that matter) is moot, considering that this has been going on for decades. Some of you need to educate yourselves on the basic history of the pop culture.

This. The only thing that is different is that women are a little more free to be sexual now when before, only men were sexual. Sex is like the basic ingredient of pop culture (and art in general) along with love and death. Literature, painting, drawing, sculpture, dancing almost all of this has generated from sex. There's a reason why all these forms of art are considered as sinful in some religions.

What does that even mean...? I really hope you're not shaming Miley's physique to defend Beyoncé's. That wouldn't make you any better. They're both beautiful.

Rupert Everett is a moronic idiot . While he's busy spewing misogynistic Crap, Beyoncé will continue to have a flourishing career, while his movie career is nonexistent. No wonder Hollywood doesn't use him.

Rupert has never minced words.
I don't exactly agree with what he's saying but within it is some truth.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've read all year. Congratulations, Mr. Rupert Everett.

A misogynistic gay man criticizing women's bodies and being implicitly racist? Now where have I heard that before....certainly not on a pop music forum?
