BOMT's MV is more iconic than anything in Xtina's career.

Neither really had much impact but Just Dance gave Gaga her start + Poker Face wouldn't have gotten so much attention so I vote for JD. + It's one of the first pure Dance pop smashes in the USA post the RnB takeover ... if not the first one.

At year end, it charted higher in 1999 despite being released in 1998. Wiki has sourced charts for Europe, Australia, etc and show BOMT's epic charting compared to Genie's. Go look for yourself and check sources there if you still thinking GIAB charted better.

BOMT is the 28th best selling song ever in the UK, GIAB isn't listed in the Top 100 so it's release mid-1999 can't be a factor there!

BBC reported 9M+ WW sales in Feb 2007, then sources like this one aren't likely to be too far off in 2012 with two greatest hits releases since her comeback. Even if it hasn't crossed the 10M, it's still over 2M ahead of GIAB in sales. Got a source for GIAB's 7M?

it has sold over 10 million physical singles, this is not debatable. Just like the fact it hit #1 in every country it charted, has just become the oldest female video to be vevo certified, is covered on singing competitions way more than GIAB(so there goes the theory about it being forgotten). Do not come for BOMT, especially when you are using GIAB.

I'd have to say Just Dance, it inspired the entire pop music scene from 2008-10 to shift towards dance pop. Genie in A Bottle is a much better song though.
