The checks keep rolling in for the 20-year old TV mogul/actress/singer, Keke Palmer. According to Deadline, Keke Palmer has just been awarded her very own daily talk show; a talk show that will be geared towards millennials (teens-age 30). The Keke Palmer Project (working title) will air on BET, and will serve as another way for BET to captivate the black, young adult audience, aside from it’s already popular show, ’106 & Park.’ The talk show will first run for a 4-week trial, starting in July, to test waters and analyze ratings.
At age 20, Keke Palmer will become the youngest talk show host in the history of television. That title was previously held by Ricki Lake, who began her talk show at the age of 25. Keke Palmer is seen as a role model for an entire generation of girls and young adults, so the move could be an absolute home run for BET executives. The show will cover popular young adult topics; everything from sex to fashion to pop culture to social issues, and more. Keke will have live guest interviews, “on the street” interviews, and undercover segments as well.
Aside from the new BET talk show, Keke has also just landed a role on Showtime’s hit TV series Masters of Sex. Palmer can also be seen in the upcoming Queen Latifah-produced film, ‘Brotherly Love’, the upcoming Drew Barrymore-produced horror film ‘Animal’, and an upcoming indie film ‘Imperial Dreams’. Busy lady!
