Wii U is so great with great games, it's so sad it's flopping.

I think Mario Kart will move some units. A $250 tag would be desirable, and if they're so desperate make it $199!

People just need to experience the console.

Aren't the Dreamcast and Wii U similar too?
They both tried the screens on the controller or something? My friend had one.

Firstly, the problem is it needed a new name. Wii U makes it sound like an add-on.
Secondly, this is a generation that's all about the graphics. And the Wii U has similar graphics to the Wii, and the Wii was already behind the PS3/360.

They just need a console with current hardware before they think about extra's imo.

Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 were great games though. 3D World is so slow-paced and it's boring.
I'm not surprised that even New Super Mario Bros. U outsold it.

Mario Kart relies on new interest as most players will prefer the Mario Kart from their gen (90's = 64, 00's+ = GC, 05+ + Wii etc etc). So I don't expect casual gamers to flock to the MK, just the people who are love Mario.

If Smash Bros doesn't help it win with the extreme help of Nostalgia, then that's it for it.
Then again, it will available on the 3DS so welp.

You keep on saying this, but this is only your opnion. Like the reviews are totally different.

it is just way too similar to the wii. Parents (the main consumer of nintendo consoles) aren't seeing what makes the wii U worth buying when schematically it looks exactly like the wii with an ugly tablet controller instead

And the GP's opinion too considering the massive difference in sales.

The Wii jumped in sales after Galaxy. The Wii U didn't after 3D world.

Meanwhile critics still got the atrocious "Mario Super Sluggers" 69/100 and yet it ended up selling for $19.99 meanwhile the other Mario games kept their original prices.

People don't see the Wii as a major console anymore...like it seen as another DS or PSP to people because it's targeted towards kids and they don't have great graphics like a Xbone or PS4
