Sis, just because your fave couldn't make the news till she betrayed the U.S. and went to Cuba does not make Britney's media presence any less impressive Britney is undeniably a media fixture no matter how hard you work to make it all seem purely negative.

It doesn't matter, she was still the one on everyone's mind before, during, and after her breakdown. You have to be able to break that wall in order to really be a pop legend. You can look at people like Katy and Adele who have monstrous success, more so than Britney in certain areas, but are rarely talked about, so their legacies won't be as remembered. The same applies to Rihanna.
Rihanna nearly 8 albums deep and has 0 memorable performance . Her album sales are too low she's out grossed by everyone and her tabloid presence < I don't see it Katy is closer to being the next Britney .
Britney stans count Destiny Child's receipts because Britney's still outdone Beyonce when they're thrown in.
Not even remotely Beyonce is nowhere near Britney in terms of impact. She has miles to go in that aspect.

I stanned Bey for a decade and think she's great but I'm not going to inflate/deflate her numbers like her stans/haters do. She's right below Britney WW because she worked hard and I'm not going to take that away from her because she's no longer one of my faves.

Britney (and Beyoncé) are untouchable. They're sitting pretty comfortable in their palaces with legends like MJ, Madonna, Whitney, Tina, Aretha etc.
Rihanna, however, is doing great. Her competitors are the ones like Gaga, Katy, Taylor etc.
