Cause Raven is not cool, never has been, never will be, and that's the honest truth. Her image is completely wrong for that of a popstar (it's shallow, but she's not pretty and certainly does not have the body) and in popular music a good image and the "cool" factor (neither of which Raven has) are a huge part of the equation. Those songs that sold so well because the people performing them have star personalities and a certain hip factor. In other words, they aren't chunky 37 year-olds still working for the mouse.

Raven's not pretty? okkkkaaayyyy. Britney isn't considered 'cool', Madonna definitely isn't considered 'cool' I mean seriously?

Her single is a top 10 hit on Billboard, and Raven.... she HAD the same potential, but she failed to utelize it. I think even her Raven soundtracks, flopped, but not as hard as her solo projects. She wanted to be a famous singer, she had the chance, but she didn't seem to care let alone know what the word "promotion" means, therefore she is a FAILURE. plain and simple.

Miley? There's a reason she's getting top 10's.
Anyways, Raven has potential, her last album was able to do 300K+ copies on little promotion. It's like what is she supposed to do? She needs her labels support for promotion and they never gave it to her.
I don't care, she can go indie again, or find another label. When she was indie, at least we got three music videos, while in her entire 'Hollywoood Records' career, we've gotten a cheap 'Backflip' that only got play time on BET.
Now had they released 'Love Me or Leave Me', 'Stupid', 'That Girl' or even 'Anti-Love Song' (which seems to be a fav) with a video and at least some small promo, the album would've sold at least what Vanessa's new album had sold.
Oh, and no the soundtracks did well, Gold at least.

HR would have give Raven more promotion if she would have sold some records in the first place regardless of promotion. The fact that she couldn't even crack 10K her first week with a single that did very well on Radio Disney along with the video getting good spots on the Disney Channel (Vanessa's video is stuck in the 10pm and after time slot) and the fact that Raven was a big DC star...

Her single was promoting 'College Road Trip', by the time the album came out it had already lost steam on Disney Channel play and Radio Disney. She needed a single that had nothing to promote but the album.
