Lol no matter what the circumstances, it is NEVER good to be dropped from your label.
It will reflect negatively on her lack of a music career.

I'm not sure what to think of this. Yay for Raven leaving the crappiest record label ever, but will she be picked up with previous record sales?

I don't like her so much but being dropped isn't a good thing...Even if your label sucks.
Hope for her she'll get signed soon.

This is a good thing. Hollywood wasn't promoting her at all. The label needs to realize that her bad sales are because of no promotion. So, if she signs onto a bigger and better company, they will give her way more promotion. Again, I'd be so excited if she got onto Warner Brothers. I'm sure they'd be happy to take her. They are Hollywood's rivals. They've done a good job with Ashley, so it'd be cool to see Raven on their roster. Also, all of Ashley's official singles in the US have charted. (Kiss the Girl, Be Good to Me, and He Said She Said).

I'm glad Raven left the label, however, I don't think that any other label would sign her.

Alot of people liked her album, I know I did. You must remember that your opinion does not equal fact. It's a very urban album...aside from the bonus track, which I only play on occasion. Being African-American, I really really enjoy the album, since it takes me back to my roots.
And apart of the reason it flopped is it had no promotion, aside from the bonus track being part of the CRT soundtrack, making it not even a true single. The music quality was a big step up from her previous productions. You can't say the music wasn't good.
Anyway, I'm happy for her. With a voice, personality and the fact that many young people know her, they could market her correctly and make her sell records. But even Raven said she's in this because she loves to make music, not because she wants a large paycheck.

Well, if she EVER gets a new deal, we can talk about promotion again.

I really think it's sad they ****ed up the project and then drop her. Maybe this is their way of parting ways...still sad.

Almost every person who bought the album liked it or at least some parts of it. If it was promoted, more people would of heard it and would of bought it. Think about it. If no one would of heard 4 Minutes before, it would've flopped. If her label were to just say, here it is, then it would of flopped. Now her label put money into making it big. And it worked. Everyone in my school has heard the song before because of promotion.
If you were to take psychology, then you'd know what I'm talking about.

When only her 6 thousand fans buy the album and some of them don't like it, you deserve to be dropped.
P.S.: LMAO at '4 Minutes' flopping without promo. Madonna, Timberlake and Timbaland's names would sell it alone, with promo or not. That's what happens when you're established. Or when you actually have a career.

Well I know it isn't a fact..Anyways, alot of pepole don't get promoted good and still mange to sell more...It's not just the promotion, her single didn't exactly burn the charts and I guess her fan base isn't so big.
I was only assuming that you need to like someone's music in order to think about getting his CD and from all of the -few- pepole that bought her album there were mostly fans..So yeah maybe if more pepole whould have tried her album she would get more sales but we can't know that.
At least untill she will get a new label (if she will) and a new CD will be out and be promoted.
But like I said, promotion wasn't the only problem.

You attempt to agree with me and then you bring back in the last line your entire argument. I obviously like the album but I am not going to sit and rant and rumble with you over it. The label tried almost nothing to promote the album - tying in the 'single' or soundtrack song, as it really is, with a movie, not booking performances, creating posters, TV commercials, debuting an actual single with a video...I could go on, but I am at work. In this day and age people download more than buy, and when they do buy, they need informed. Promotion is necessary more than ever these last 2-3 years, especially. With iTunes and previews, people just aren't buying, factor that in.
You and I don't know Raven's fanbase, or its size. The magazine cover she was on was JET magazine, a primarily African American magazine read by people PAST the age of 25 (I read it). That automatically reduces the size of people aware of her album, which she barely mentioned on top of that. You also say the single didn't "burn up" the charts, well if wasn't meant to and it wasn't even sent to radio.
Listen I'm not here to argue, I am just trying to point out the cracks in your argument. You don't really seem to know much of Raven-Symone, or her record.
