My friend made me join so he'd have someone to go with and he took me through his workout which was literally the messiest and most disorganized thing I've ever done. He learnt it from his step mom who's like 50, so us two skinny twinks wandered around looking like total fools.
I remember my first time; there was this machine where you are supposed to place your knees on some bench and the remaining of that area and hold some bars while pushing that bench with your knees to boost your upper body strength. Instead of doing that, I sat on the bench like my ass not my knees and made everyone laugh including my bro. I kind-off wanna go to the gym again, but I'm not eager to it.
When I first went I was a bit nervous since I was a LOT smaller than everybody else and I wasn't 100% sure what I was doing and I was scared I'd do something silly and people would laugh at me wondering why I was even there. But now I go all the time and I'm used to it.
You just have to try and ignore everybody there, or go with a friend for your first time.
My first time in the gym, I went like a day after I had recovered from a bad cold. I did some stuff for 15mins and blacked out all of a sudden. I got sent to the hospital in an ambulance, it was so embarrassing.
Four years ago.
The gym i started out at was like, full of working class ppl who only had time to pop in and out for 30mins of cardio, so the weights, equipment area was literally a ghost town.
So i got to start off at my own pace, no pressure, and i had a one-on-one trainer to help me out.
I can't imagine life without it now.
I'm in a weight lifting class at my school because I hate normal Phy Ed and it sucks. It was my first experience being in a gym. I've been in it for 3 weeks and I still don't know half of the lifts that we're supposed to do so I just go to the machines most of the guys know what they're doing so it's intimidating. I just want to use the treadmill
omg same but at my school's gym there is seating near the entrance and i just sit there with all the other people who don't want to do pe and use my phone.
Funny you make this, I'm 15 and I making myself go over Easter break
Most of the people aren't in great shape either but sometimes I see people from my school and I get really intimidated and awkward.. I try to go as early as possible to avoiding seeing them
I went to the gym the first time in January 2013. The gym is a smaller one tho. One of the gym teachers helped me finding the right exercises and wrote them down for me, so I wasn't nervous at all.
But the first time I was there, the radio played Super Bass and I couldn't concentrade. I started spazzing in the middle of the gym
