huh? lip syncing is way less common now than it was before every performance was on youtube 5 minutes after it aired. like 90% of the 00's bubblegum era TV performances were lip synced
My poin is she hardly caries the songs vocals 60% of the concerts, with the backtrack. That's the reason why many reviews od DWT claimed she lip-synced anyway. If she sung as much as Katy on her concerts you would never see her doing some slower songs as she does now, her stamina is really low. You could use idk Taylor as example, that would made more sense.
It's not more common but I think the industry is too fast and too rough for an artist to work on themselves. I would not be shocked if many artists didn't even get a vocal coach that worked with them on a daily basis. Most of the time the producers and managers don't see the importance of vocal training so promotion in any way is much more important nowadays than the art itself.
It's the same reason why people today are more accepting of singers that don't write their own lyrics or don't play an instrument.
In the rock age it was more about how talented the band were, how hard they worked, and what message they had to say, whilst today it's more about how good the actual songs are, and people listen to music for fun today. Most of the general public don't care who made a song, or how they made it, as long as the song is good and catchy.
They say their fav is the best vocalist of her generation and the 2nd comin' of Mariah, but when the opportunity came to show off her vocals, she doesn't do it live, despite her being static on stage and not moving at all
Rihanna has a backtrack and she often doesn't even try to put the mic up to her mouth and sing along. She'll just wind her waist and let the backtrack do all the work. She put like 75% into her last tour.
And I saw her live, so it's not like I'm just saying it for the sake of it. I wasn't impressed and Bey saved me from it when I saw her a few months after.
There's no difference between what Rihhana does on her tour and lip-syncing. Ultimately you can't hear her real voice and she does get call out on that by reviewers. She's not an example to use when you want to applaud someone for trying on stage.
