Yesterday I was listening to Natasha Bedingfield and my mom was like "Is that Avril Lavigne?" I mean my parents know I stan for Avril so everytime they hear a song by a female artist they always ask me if that's Avril Well except for huge songs such as "Roar", etc. My mom knows it's a song by Katy Perry.
Forget about parents, my boyfriend can't distinguish songs by Katy Perry, Pink, and Kelly Clarkson ("They all sound the same"). He also thought the new Teagan and Sara song was Evanescence's new material.
My mum listens to Capital (a big UK radio station) so she gets to know a lot of popular songs and she asks me who sings what and how successful they've been. Sometimes I test her and she's pretty good at remembering. When Roar v Applause happened, I kept hee up to date on what was going on and she seems genuinely interested.
Oh and she hates XO and she worships Dark Horse
