Marijuana is bad for you. It's a gate way drug. People don't just wake up and one day say I'm gonna try heroin. They start with pot and work their way up. Also I will say I have never seen anyone get more intelligent while on pot. While I have seen people I know go from being very intelligent to flunking out of school while smoking pot.

Anything that's you smoke is bad. Why is this so hard for people to understand?

Most of the people I know smoke pot. I am in fact one of the few who doesn't, non of them do heroine though and I doubt any of them ever would.

The gateway drug argument is BS. Also my brother smokes tons of it and he did better than me in school.

It's ridiculous for people to act like there's no side effects to marijuana.

Moderation is always the key.

I love to smoke occasionally, but you can't smoke everyday and believe that you are not doing any damage to your brain.

Omg, the whole 'gateway drug' argument is so flawed. EVERYTHING is a gateway. A car is a gateway to drugs. Drinking soda is a gateway.

And anyway, like someone said above, it's about moderation. A glass of wine everyday is good for you, but drinking 2 bottles everyday is obviously not.

Saying general comments about how smoking/weed use in general must always be bad is well and good but until cognitive research is done to determine hard evidence like with other drugs, I believe these opinions are simply because of stigma.

I made this thread because the other research topic was FILLED with people casting intense judgement upon others as if they were waiting for something like this to confirm their prejudices. Not so fast!

Don't see the need in using at all, regardless of it's good or bad effects, but whatever. If people want to do it then they can.

First of all, Alcohol and Cigs are also "gateway" drugs. Just because you smoke marijuana, doesn't mean you do hard drugs. There are many people who do hard drugs and not marijuana.

Secondly, Albert Einsteen, Obama, many historical figures if not most of them, smoke marijuana. It's not gonna make you smarter, but it doesn't make you stupid. It does however, make people more creative and relaxed with their thoughts.

Thirdly, you are probably a 13 year old girl. You know nothing about the world yet.

Tell that to cancer patients who needs Marijuana. Tell that to people with heavy anxiety, or children that need it to live.

Why is it so hard for people to understand THAT? Alcohol is a million times worse, there are NO positive benefits from that but YOU probably drink and still **** talk marijuana.

There are but they're minor. There is nothing life changing about smoking weed, I mean look at Snoop Dogg or Wiz Khalifa, they are both perfectly fine.

That gateway drug pish your spouting is ********, the reason its considered a gateway drug is because its illegal, if it was legal no one would have to go to a dealer and be offered different kinds of drugs. Ive known 3 heroin users in my life and 1 of the smoked pot before hand but gave it up when they started shooting up, the other 2 were raging alcoholics before they became addicts. Also no one denies that pot is bad for you and no one says you get more intelligent ?

Drinking is far worse than smoking weed, in fact you can consume weed without health side effects if you eat it or use a vaporizer.

More accurately there is a correlation between changes in the brain and smoking marijunana... they just haven't proven it conclusively yet.


But in my opinion it should be 15 years for possession of this evil.
