So this thread is to discuss the hypocrisy surrounding a certain group of religious people. I see all these Christians celebrating Good Friday and Christ's crucifixion and they throw it in people's faces and literally tell me to be humble and celebrate his sacrifice, but when I say in my opinion and belief God and the bible are fake and are just established works of fiction decided on and edited by some popes and priests they get offended and I can't express that belief? What gives them the right to rub all that stuff in my face when there is not a single proof to their God and they deny to accept facts that science has proven because some book states otherwise..
I don't mean to offend, I tried putting it in a more subtle way but I wouldn't get my point across because these are the facts I've seen today and during other religious holidays. Why can't I say I don't want or need to celebrate anything this day because Jesus is not relevant to me or my life
And before some pressed soul reports me for "flamebait" or "offensive" or whatever fickle thing, I find the bible offensive and the hypocrisy surrounding believers. Why have certain scriptures and teachings been so obsessed over (eg. homosexuality and evolution) while the ten commandments (adultery, stealing, the sabbath etc), all that stuff about slavery and the lack of women's rights is brushed over? It's appalling.

But I totally agree with you. "Hardcore Christians" seem to be slow-minded. They always want that everybody celebrates their "Holy Days" but they are not willing to accept other "Holy Days". Same goes with their beliefes. They are so damn selfish. I am not saying that every Christian acts that way. (Only the "Hardcore Christians")
Well many ppl homophobic Christians say that gays rub gay prides on their face and its constant media coverage annoys them. Guess we have to be tolerant a bit tho, but maybe this comparison is stupid tho.

Yes, exactly. but Hardcore=OTT. I'm not hardcore but God is still very important to me and I pray everyday.
I have many atheist friends and we have no problems.
I really don't pay mind to anyone who only has morals because a book told them what their morals should be, and that they'll face eternal damnation if they don't follow these morals. Like don't get me wrong, I'll definitely be friends with religious people (most of my family is religious, actually, and I don't hate them for it.), but if a religious person was going to tell me I was wrong for not being religious, I wouldn't pay it any attention.
The Christians don't follow the Bible 100% so why should anyone.
It does say slavery is a natural condition, it does say that you shouldn't wear different fabrics on your body at the same time, it does say that you shouldn't shave facial hair, it does say you're not allowed to get tattoos or piercings and it does say a lot of stupid ****.
The fact remains that Christians hand pick the "rules" they like and force them on others. That's the biggest hypocrisy of it all.
