My real mom LOVES pop culture. She'll always tell me gossip she's heard and she gets People and Entertainment Weekly in the mail. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and E! News are like the only things she watches on TV Recently, she's been real into trash talking Gaga.
My Dad is clueless but my mother is always reading DailyMail and magazines about celebrities.
She's really fickle as well, one minute she was stanning for Taylor with her X Factor performance the next minute she was dragging her and saying she needs to stop dating so many guys.
I also remember once my Mother was telling my sister (a huge Rihanna stan) how one of Rihanna's albums went platinum in its first week, I was just like.
I live with my grandma and aunt if that counts as parents. My whole house stans for Bey (mostly because I've been blasting her music in the house and making them watch her videos/performances).
My grandma stans for the Beatles (she was like a 15 year old girl watching Paul McCartney perform at the Olympics last year) and Earth, Wind and Fire, but I think that's about it when it comes to pop culture.
My aunt is into everything. She's the reason my taste in music is so diverse. Adele and Bey are the only pop girls she'll spend coins on though.

My Mom never knows the names of songs/movies/actors/actresses/etc. and is always giving me crazy descriptions when we have conversations. She gets so mad when I can't figure out what she's talking about. She's just like that SNL digital short from a few years ago
Once my mom asked me how The One That Got Away did on the charts (this was like a week ago we heard it on the radio) and I told her it got #3. So she's like "darn, Katy's not like Lady Gaga where everything hits #1?"

Just today the Empire video came out and she was like "who's that... katy perry?" i stay quiet. then she read "Shakira - Empire" and she's like "naahh she CAN'T be Shakira". I was like "nnnn mom, bye".

My Mom is a massive Gaga fan, she even went to the Monster Ball with me back in 2010. She even loves ARTPOP. Right now, she's obsessed with John Newman, and in the past year, she's been obsessed with Bruno Mars and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. She's also super excited for Sia's and La Roux's new albums.
