Right, but Adele was the sole reason for the increase in sales in 2011 and 2012. I don't think she will have another 21, but if she can't help sales in 2014, then no one can. Not even the juggernaut Frozen is giving overall album sales a boost.

I truly hope Adele was not just a fad. A lot of the people hyping her up are forgetting the GP has a short attention span. They'll love you today because you're so unique and different but will abandon who tomorrow because your boring and dated.

People still play 21, Adele will pull godly first week numbers I'm sure. Men love Adele, children love Adele, she's just so versatile and infectious.

A couple years ago all the articles like this were about Taylor Swift singlehandedly saving the music industry.

Now they've moved onto Adele. Can't they see that Taylor and Adele are only bandaids on the gaping wound that is album sales?

No one simply forgets about the person who sold 28 million copies of an album in today's climate. That's like saying people would forget Michael Jackson after Thriller. Impossible. She'll sell really well her first week.

It will have HUGE first week sales. I mean HUGE. Especially worldwide. And if she keeps the 21 formula and delivers another strong album I bet it'll slay the world again.

Oh and btw, this is her moment. She should just drop the album now.

She obviously didn't do a good enough job "rescuing" it in the first place if it needs to be "re-rescued" so soon. Almost as if she didn't do any rescuing at all, but in fact just enjoyed brilliant success herself and may do again.

Besides, it sounds like they're talking about making the charts exciting, not saving the music industry.

It's not rescuing as in helping everyone else's sales. No artist has the power to increase everyone's album sales. It's rescuing as in she's the only one right now with the sales to stop the industry from continuing to pull in declining numbers every year with HER sales.

Anyways, the industry should see an increase this year no matter what with Adele AND Taylor releasing. Adele will likely do a surprise announcement for her album like JT did, which should generate a lot of return buzz and give her huge sales. (Only difference is she'll likely release an album worth the hype)

Adele didn't rescue anything with 21 and she won't do that this year either with new album. Only Adele and her label(s) benefit from her monstrous success.

The industry definitely benefits off of such massive sales.

Money-wise it mostly goes to her and her label but there's also songwriters, producers, engineers, etc that benefit from it as well, which are very important parts of the industry.

I don't know if Adele + Taylor can bring up a HUGE -17%, considering both albums will came out in November-December. Still the streaming is taking over
