Lady Gaga started doing the rounds on UK radio Tuesday to promote her new single "G.U.Y." and talk a bit about her upcoming artRave tour. While talking to BBC Radio 1's Scott Mills, Gaga also responded to a recent comment by Lily Allen, commending Gaga for staying true to artistic self rather than chasing hits: 'If she's not succeeding commercially because she's standing by what she does as art, then that's a ****ing great thing. That's to be commended.'
There's nothing wrong with that. Gaga responded saying, "That's really very sweet. I've always been a very big fan of hers. I appreciate her standing up for artists, and standing up for me in particular. That's really admirable for her to do that. I think all artists should stand by one another, and for one another," adding "when it becomes a competition we aren't supporting the production and creativity in art but when you support all artists then you're supporting everyone and anything to make what they love." Gaga finished by thanking her, "she's always had that very old soul heart of hers, so it doesn't surprise me, but I thought that was very sweet. Thank you, Lily. You're Lovely."
