Despite the meltdowns and horror-filled Venus outfits she wore during the DWUW era, it was good and was a popular (though not mega-sized) hit. Her going into a hiatus after just coming back from a hiatus was what did her and her album in.

Let me just sob... Venus should have gotten it's time right after Applause. It would have been utter slayage, The songs my mom likes of Gaga's are BR/Monster/Alejandro and she loved Venus... After Venus should have been Sexxx Dreams followed by Gypsy.

I will be forever pressed that DWUW didn't live out its full potential That song is one of her best singles ever IMO. Oh well, at least it did decently well. In a weird way it feels like it made more impact than Applause did...at least to people I know and what I've seen first hand I guess. I'd always hear it in so many college bars, but I never heard Applause.
