I am an African American and all my life I've gotten "You act white" comments from both races of black and white. However, all my life I've questioned "Can you act a color? Can you act "white" or act "black"? What's everyone's opinion? And have you gotten that before?

My opinion: There's no such thing. Because my family doesn't talk like that or because I was raised in a well area doesn't mean I'm anything less than where I come from.

+1. This is all based off of stereotypes. For example, saying that you're acting white by talking well or because you have money doesn't make sense because white trash exists who don't posses those qualities.

I actually hate when particularly white people stereotype races. They're marginalizing without even realizing and think they're doing no harm
