The stagnation is not due to streaming being added. Streaming is not a face-paced medium, yes; but it is a lot more prone to big jumps than airplay. You can have big increases and decreases for streaming that you don't really see for radio.

The real reason for the stagnation is that we've entered a period where radio formats are once again converging towards the same songs again ala the early 2000s. When the formats are all playing different songs, there will be more variance towards the top of the chart. When all of the major formats have a couple songs in common, then you end up with songs that occupy the top of the airplay chart for months on end which gets reflected in the Hot 100 as well. In the past year we've had songs crossing over like crazy.

And, like the early 2000s era, this increased radio convergence is happening right when sales are lagging behind; meaning radio gets even more influence because sales aren't holding up their own weight. I'd say we'd be in an even worse situation without streaming, because then we wouldn't have songs like Let It Go and Turn Down For What shaking up the chart in the ways that they have.

Let It Go should be dropping since it has peaked on Streaming and Sales and Airplay is not going to help it.

Pompeii and Team are like a couple. Both are gonna decrease at the same rate

The Man is decreasing on sales and that's the factor it helps more. Plus, airplay never helped it and now it's even falling there. It could be its last week inside Top 10

the radio convergence is crazy tbh. I can't go to three radio stations without hearing Happy on all of them. eventually I just settle because I can't win. it's stupid, it's boring and there are plenty of other songs beneath even Team that deserve some airplay. radio's gotta give at some point.
