If they weren't releasing anything this year, they should have at least denied all of those rumors earlier this year that she was. It doesn't matter if they think it lowers the hype, with the way it is the public will be more unhappy that they've been strung along for all this time, and the media will be more unhappy that she makes them look like idiots for reporting a 2014 release. Besides, the hype is dying on it's own more and more with each passing day.

I'm more than fine with anything coming in August tbh. I don't like waiting but I'll live. And I'd rather her launch at something like the VMA's, guarantee those massive first week sales, than release in the Summer when sales are so terrible and there's no shows or anything to promote on.

And there's really no hype for this album from the GP, just demand (which is better). Most aren't even aware she's recording an album (she's kept so quiet about it) so she should be fine holding off a little while longer.

She just needs to make sure the material is strong or the era will go horribly.

September is the absolute LATEST I can wait for a single though.

And hopefully sometime in the Summer she does confirm new material is on the way, though I assume she wants it to be a big surprise so that way the hype is massive when she finally announces ala JT and Beyoncé.

She'll be fine. I wouldn't be surprised when she comes back, she basically picks up where 21 left off.

There is hype for the album though Nnot as much now but if you ever noticed when news came out on what Ryan Tedder said and that she was working with Phil Collins that many people started talking about. If you get more news like that then more people will start talking about wanting a new album

There's people looking forward to it but she's not really done much to hype people up about it. Even the ones who know she's recording an album have no idea when we'll hear it. The only people "hyped" about it are people like us who've been following it closely.

And it's for the best. Like I said, when she announces a new album it'll be a huge deal and it'll be better for the hype to start when the era starts rather than having it start months before it begins.

I would still disagree. There is some hype for it but just not a lot People do want a new album so I guess that means your "demand" but I find hype and demand is pretty much the same :P

There's definitely hype but I think what's keeping it from escalating is her decision (and other people who've worked on it) to stay quiet about all of it.

But like I said, there's more demand, which works better in her favor anyways. Hype usually lets people down and doesn't sell an album in the long run, whereas with demand, people will buy it no matter what.

If I could give advice to her labels, assuming the album isn't yet completed so April/May/June are out of the question, I'd say what makes the most sense is August (VMAs time) for the lead and then release early October like Skyfall.

I mean, May and June for the single then August for the LP might would work too (and is obviously preferable to us as desperate fans ), but only if everything's good and together in time.

Either way they work it out, promote then with performances at 2014 VMAs and Grammys 2015 and (please God) tour 2015.

Demand is obviously better than hype because it's more sustainable for sales, but nevertheless it can disappear equally quickly should she start stretch this wait out too long.

August single October album would fit with what Paul Moss has been saying as well...
