I love this misguided idea that Lana hasn't sold out. Hello, she's on a major record label, has her song used in commercials and in movies, and works with mainstream producers. Her not selling a lot or making a lot of money doesn't mean she hasn't sold out.
And why is Gaga being brought up? I know she's the standard even when she's "flopping" but I don't get what she has to do with Lana's new song. I guess people can't help but talk about her. Not sure how Lana's slaying or anything considering this song has been #2 for less than a day and is already showing signs of free-falling.
she already top them with her album tracks and unreleased
can you direct me to anything spiritual like ride from those unreleased gems you speak of! Ride is like my favorite song ever.. honestly I have been listening to in in heavy rotation since It was released.. I wish I was lieing.

Although unpopular, Carmen.

for me Cola and Bel Air are better than Ride on Paradise honestly. And from unreleased i think Tired of Singing the Blues, Velvet Crowbar (IMO)

Not selling a lot? Oh honey, BTD went platinum with virtually no promotion, and that was before the Summertime Remix. The album is selling more than Artpop weekly, which is finishing with less than 700,000

Sis we're talking about how despite how big she's gotten she hasn't sold out her sound and started making cheap generic top 40 sounding songs. She's still sticking to her different, unique sound that made us all love her in the first place

Um, if you must insist that Lana's "sold out", know that doesn't necessarily mean that she's compromised any of her artistic integrity... Have you heard the song she released yesterday? It's called West Coast & it isn't exactly a radio smash waiting to happen.
Mainstream producers...? Who...? Emile Haynie...? She's not exactly working with generic, overly-used producers like, say, RedOne, will.i.am, David Guetta, or Dr. Luke to score an easy hit.
No one's remotely concerned w/ Gaga in this thread. For some reason, some of the Little Monsters are FUMING when it comes to Lana, so naturally, her name is going to pop up somewhere.
Most of us are actually trying to pacify the situation, but the sassy replies keep coming...

But she is selling rather well. Summertime Sadness has sold more than Applause. And let's not talk about Born To Die's success despite no promotion or really any single success...Up until last summer. True longevity. To me selling out means you had a sound and gathered a fanbase and got your name out there, and then you completely reinvented yourself to become something you're not, just so the GP and mainstream would like you. Let's not sis, she has stuck to her sound while also reinventing herself in a way where she doesn't sell out to the mainstream dance-pop scene today. And Lana has been slaying despite the nay sayers....it's hilarious that the same people that said she wouldn't be able to have any commercial success outside of Tumblr, have been proved completely wrong.
She has managed to gather a large fanbase, that she gathered through her music. Not because she was shocking anyone. She also overcome everyone trying to bring her down from the start of her career. Remember the SNL performance? It wasn't even THAT bad but the media felt the need to destroy her before she even began her career. They even reviewed her album unfairly because of that one performance! Lana hasn't sold out and she deserves every bit of success that she gets.
For me, I'd say it's tied with Dark Paradise/This Is What Makes Us Girls.
Off to the Races, Ride, and Gods and Monsters are my all time favorites. Born to Die, National Anthem, Dark Paradise, This Is What Makes Us Girls, Cola, and Bel Air are up there too. It's so hard to choose my favorites. Also I can see West Coast being up there among my faves
im a gaga fan but some of her fans are mad at lana lmfao, with quotes like, well she's in top 10 buts going to plummet in hours, or its obvious that she's going to sell more because of the summertime sadness remix which is the only hit that she has, **** like that lol
