Season six of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” was the highest-rated season of the “The Real Housewives” franchise among all key demos, averaging over 3.8 million total viewers and 2.2 million P18-49, up 25 percent and 17 percent respectively from prior season.
Real Housewives of Atlanta will always be on top as long as they have NeNe and Kenya. They bring the ratings IN honey, as much as I don't like Kenya, she's been a great asset to the show. The rest, while entertaining, are expendable. Well, Kandi is kind of popular and her Mama Drama brings the ratings, so I guess she's up there with NeNe and Kenya. However, I find her boring.

It worked because Kenya was already a known name and face in the black community. There was no needs to build her character with a whole bunch of backstory.

I agree about Nene and Kenya. As much as Nene annoys me lately she's a necessary presence on the show and is definitely still a draw. Her WWHL episode with Andy had 3.5 million viewers.
QUEEN Kenya has definitely brought the show to new heights though. Her power.

Not true. The Phaedra/Apollo/Kenya thing brought a lot of exposure and ratings, as well as Porsha's divorce and the fight. Peter also causes drama. This the best all around cast of any of the shows and the best RHOA has had in awhile.

Phaedra and Kandi are not expendable. Kenya, Nene, Kandi and Phaedra are needed. I feel like the show needs somebody like Cynthia. Porsha, I don't mind if she stays but if she leaves I'd be fine with that too.
I've watched since day 1 and apart from season 4 this has been one of the most boring, Kandi and Kenya have been the stars of the series for me, but it was all a bit too long and dragged out. Nene and Cynthia bringing Monyque and that other flop at the slumber party into things only made viewing less bearable. Nothing will ever beat season 3, Kim and Nene laughing over Cynthia's friend contract was hilarious.
