Other than its impact on British weather, what impact did Umbrella have on music?

It didn't even have impact on the weather

Sis, I was responding to someone who incorrectly guessed that "Umbrella" was more covered than "Toxic."

"Toxic" was a dance-pop song popular when only R&B songs were popular. "Umbrella" was an R&B/pop song popular when R&B/pop was popular. One of these was actually out of left field and the other was a typical single.
List of #1 singles in 2004
"Hey Ya" - Outkast
"The Way You Move" - Outkast
"Slow Jamz" - Twista
"Yeah!" - Usher
"Burn" - Usher
"I Believe" - Fantasia
"Confessions Part II" - Usher
"Slow Motion" - Juvenile
"Lean Back" - Terror Squad
"Goodies" - Ciara
"My Boo" - Usher
"Drop It Like It's Hot" - Snoop Dogg
You can't even lie and say "Toxic's" sound was remotely popular at the time of its release.
List of #1 singles in 2007
"Irreplaceable" - Beyonce
"Say It Right" - Nelly Furtado
"What Goes Around...Comes Around" - Justin Timberlake
"This Is Why I'm Hot" - Mims
"Glamorous" - Fergie
"Don't Matter" - Akon
"Give It To Me" - Timbaland
"Girlfriend" - Avril Lavigne
"Makes Me Wonder" - Maroon 5
"Umbrella" - Rihanna
"Hey There Delilah" - Plain White T's
"Beautiful Girls" - Sean Kingston
"Big Girls Don't Cry" - Fergie
"Crank That" - Soulja Boy
"Stronger" - Kanye West
"Kiss Kiss" - Chris Brown
"No One" - Alicia Keys
Can you even say "Umbrella" was a new sound when the #1 song of 2007, "Irreplaceable," was also R&B/pop. Rihanna's sound wasn't even slightly novel in 2007, so how could she have impact when she was not setting trends?

Could a Navy member explain this, please? How has "Umbrella" had any impact? Even the "eh, eh" mess was big that year in other songs (see J. Holiday's "Bed)."

FINALLY a logical response here.
This thread is why the army is the most delusional fanbase on atrl

The Navy is really getting stupid and burning bridges with the Army. "Umbrella" has 0 impact and to compare it to "Toxic" alone is an insult, but for you all to go out of your way to call us "delusional" and then praise a song WITH 0 IMPACT

The Army is the only fanbase in here actually bringing in receipts.
