Music industry executives have noticed a pattern in which songs top Shazam’s charts well before they climb to claim the top spot on Billboard and Top 40 charts. “Our data has shown that we can typically predict 30 days in advance what’s going to be at the top of the Billboard Hot 100,” says Peter Szabo, Shazam’s head of music.
