Die Young was ahead of Diamonds for a while actually, it was only because of Diamonds' urban support (even though it's not even an urban song) that it topped the charts before Die Young did. Even then, it was still approaching the #1 spot, and the school shooting happened. Even still it peaked at #2, that's hardly "being crushed".

Up until the shooting, Die Young was showing more positive trajectory than Diamonds (It's AI peaks were still in the millions while Diamonds was peaking.) Had Sandy Hook not happened, Die Young would've gone #1 and Warrior wouldn't have flopped.

My least favourite single tbh... just never got into it.

The song is just too bland and generic, it should of been more Folky and raw.

Ya'll are too sweet! Yass at Animals! Best fanbase! But yah, it was one of the worser times of my life so it's a little unfortunate "Die Young" is associated with that memory. But on the other hand I have flawless memories of "Only Wanna Dance With You" and pretty much the whole album as one of the most fun summers I've ever had so whatever.
