Malta has now become the latest country to recognize same-sex couples.
The bill which a local priest claims "shocked" the Pope because it includes gay adoption is now only a signature away from being implemented.

In one evening, Maltese parliament created civil unions with joint adoption and added sexual orientation to the anti-discrimination clause in their constitution. Unfortunately, marriage requires a referendum and they're not sure it could pass yet, but I'm sure we'll see one soon enough
In Western Europe this just leaves Italy, Faroe Islands and Monaco.
