I always imagined the Nobody's Business video being set in the 90's, with her and Chris being dressed in Fresh Prince of Bel-Air 90's clothes, playing basketball in a graffiti-covered basketball court somewhere in New York with a whole bunch of dancers.
And the video quality would be really 90s too. Like it would be recorded on one of those big, old, 90s home-video cameras. And then it would have cutaway scenes to Rihanna performing in front of a green-screen, with a city backdrop in the background (like they used to have in shopping malls in the 90s where you could make your own video) like this kid:
So the video would basically be that level of quality ^^^^ sort of like what Lana does, except not 60s/70s vintage quality, but 90s vintage quality. THEN, Beyonce released her album and 'Grown Woman' used this sort of video effect and I was so devo hahahaha.
Has everyone made up their mind that R8 and Home coinciding is going to be a huge mess? Or does anyone else think they'll compliment each other and will give Rihanna multiple avenues, outlets and marketing channels to complimentarily promote each of them. The publicity surrounding her could be huge. What Beyonce did with her surprise release and visual album was completely innovative. Who else had done that before? And who has released 2 albums so close together? Not like a part 1 and a part 2, but actual separate bodies of work. No one. I'm not saying it won't be messy, I'm just saying we don't know yet, so we shouldn't be so skeptical. Everyone's already made up their minds that it's gonna be a huge mess, despite the fact that by the time they come out, her last release will have been 2 years earlier. For all we know, it could work, and it could work really, really well.

I wouldn't underestimate the power of Home. They have such a wide reach. Whereas songs like 'Cake' and 'Cockiness' only really appeal to a very narrow/niche target market.

The thing you don't realize is that Rihanna will have to keep her image somewhat clean for HOME, not squeaky clean but clean so no having R8 and Home won't compliment each other. HOME will certainly be beneficial for Rihanna's career and such but having it mix up with R8 will not be a good thing. Also you guys are preaching about how you want an iconic era and such but don't won't happen because HOME and R8 will just be a huge blur. The publicity surrounding RIhanna will always be huge. Also 2years breaks ISN'T that long, it's pretty much standard.
Also Barbara Streisand has done it in the past but then again the 1980's where very different to 2010's. Also Idina Menzel wouldn't be successful if she would release an album at the moment.
The only thing that got me hype is getting double the music. 24new tracks in year.
Also those who wanted confirmation that it will be an album by Rihanna with BRAND NEW SONGS.

i mean R8 surely isn't the era most of us wanted, but it's happening. the promo will be messy but i'm still optimistic. i think the music will be great and her performances will be better. there's not much we can do besides wait and try to predict how her and her team will handle it

R8 most likely won't be the career changing moment for Rihanna many of us wanted but I don't doubt the music will be good. I'm sceptical about performances considering how much pressure she going to have and the charged schedule she about to have. She'll have even less time to rehearse.
Tip is giving me Rihanna circa 2012 and Tip will also be having Rihanna's accent not like Cora where they suppressed her accent.
Rihanna should go back to this during HOME era tbh.
