I think BTW and ARTPOP eras destroyed all that goodwill and respect
No, I'm serious. People ACTUALLY think she's a talented artist. Trust me on this. They just don't want to buy her product since she's tainted her brand.
She would've been successful if her BTW singles went as follows:
1. BTW
2. Hair
3. The Edge of Glory
4. You and I (maybe)
End Era. All easy to relate songs... but do her fans really want that? Ask yourself
Same with ARTPOP if she went with
1. Applause
2. MANiCURE
3. Do What U Want
4. Gypsy
Again, easy to relate songs... her fans would rip her to shreds though.
She doesn't know what her fans want she's only concerned with doing what she believes is art. Well actually she tried to bring "fan and radio friendly" songs but she failed miserably.
I think Gaga is happy with the damage she caused with the BTW era (aside from the EY situation and MTN #29). It was what she had wanted to do all along and would probably do it all again if she were to look back - aside from maybe Judas.
If only ARTPOP wasn't given such a disastrous promotion. Like.. even from the start. They obviously didn't want her to succeed by having her release one week after Eminem.
I'm sure people think she's talented but I don't think it matters when EVERYONE has dragged/talked ****/"betrayed" her and nobody is buying your product, not even your fans
I actually think if Gaga ditch the whole gay advocate role and reinvent herself by adapting a serious musician brand with mellow/ballad songs. The GP would respect her more + increase her sales AND more people would be less hesitant to go to her tours.

I doubt it she was an alcoholic during that era she was miserable, I think ARTPOP had excellent promotion in the beginning she just had a horrible product and spokesperson (stefani)

Gaga's problem is that she feels the need to justify everything she does for some reason. I don't really get it but her career sort of goes like this imo:
TFM: WEIRD
BTW: Justification of that weirdness
ARTPOP: Justification of the justification of her weirdness
Oh well it's her career. At least she's loyal to the fans that she chose to stick with, if she's devoted to them then good for her. I don't think she cares anymore, I feel like she's content with the path that she chose. We should all just let her be and support her for what she believes in.

Why?
She had an 8 million+ selling album and had one of the best selling tours of all time (until her hip broke). The only aspects that could truly be depressing about that era is people calling her a Madonna copycat and her favorite song (which she performed and promoted to the high heavens) only going #29 on the charts.
but after the alejandro, btw, and judas backlashes how did she still manage to sell 7 million copies WW of the album if it was the beginning of the end?
Yeah because as I said, people respect her talent thus why it's selling well. But imagine if she's still the "cool" girl to stan for, she's gonna break records left and right.
I really want them to collab (Bonnie would piss her pants if she got the call ) But Gaga's pride and ego and "I'M an ARTist I WRITE ALL OF MY SONGSS WITH NOUWWW HELPS!!11!!!" attitude would get in the way.
Gaga has no place in today's music climate. It would be one thing if she were releasing music ahead of its time or do something creatively experimental and risky, but she's really behind here with ARTPOP. The sound is 2009 and most of the lyrics aren't that good. She could have gotten away with this years ago, but ARTPOP was supposed to be the era that reinvented her sonically and visually. It would have been great to see some real evolution from her. ARTPOP doesn't seem like a challenge, but like a defensive answer to BTW's lack of commercial appeal...only Gaga's reply is 3 years too late.
