Like others have said, the remix pales in comparison to the original. I'm not pressed about the remix. I even paid my coins to see the good brother Cedric "spin" at a venue in my city last month . The only songs that the entire venue sang along to were his remixes of Summertime Sadness and Adore You.

His ****ing tour is called the Summertime Sadness tour. The melody to Summertime Sadness slays lives which is the basis of the remix. He opened the show with an interlude of Summertime Sadness and for his encore he replayed Summertime Sadness. The club was full and Cedric said the first time he played in my city there were only 10 people. The only reason he is known is because of Lana's song. Lana had the hype, press, acclaim, before and after this remix. If anything CEDRIC is pressing onto Lana's coattails and was blessed with a Grammy.

Selling over 500k in the US alone, without a hit single, is impressive for an artist who released only two singles in the US, the highest peaking at #91 on the Hot 100.

She also sold around 4 million albums WW before the remix was released as well.
She was doing better than most girls in 2012 & 2013.

I like the original and the remix, and Lana didn't even trash the remix, I don't understand the problem people have with it? It got Lana some exposure? Her next album is obviously going to do a lot better because of the remix, by default... radios are going to be more likely to play her new single, etc. It's all good to be a fan of an artist but you can't deny that success is always nice too.

I've never ever heard a Lana song on my local radio stations until that Summertime Sadness remix by Cedric.
The remix gave her good exposure outside the Europe and US. She may not like the remix but I think she gains new fans cause of it.

They cut short Young & Beautiful for the SS remix, and then only played the Y&B remix, while the original was neglected.

The original wasn't going to do any better than her previous singles though, unfortunately.
