Every pop star has flaws. It's up to the pop star to be aware they have flaws. Katy is fully aware that she has flaws and is not some perfect being, and that is why she's still very successful today even though she isn't close to be the best singer in the business. If you have the ability to be aware and know how to work with what you have, you can always be successful.
Also people would like to throw the Smurfs under the rug and claim she didn't do much, but if their fav lent their voice to a movie that was extremely successful you know damn well they would be using that in their favs stats. Case in point: Rihanna stans who call her featured hits "hers" because billboard lists her as partial owner of the #1 despite it not actually being her song. Well go on boxofficemojo and Katy is listed as well as on other sites. Part of Me the movie also was not a flop, it's a concert movie like how well do you guys expect it to do? For the type of movie it was, it grossed a well amount.
Everyone calls her tour a flop, but MANY people would KILL to be able to have a $60 million tour. She's in her 6-7th year in the business and she is only increasing every year. Her last tour grossed $60 million and this one is looking to gross over $100 million. Her first tour during the OOTB era was extremely small as well.
I'd rather have her reputation building and her tours becoming more successful with each one, than just skyrocketing to the top of the touring charts and then quickly burning out and having to make your next tours smaller because they no longer sell out.
Longevity > high peak.
But you guys keep doing the most with Katy, and acting like she is flopping in other areas when in reality she is doing very well
