Away from sales which I don't give a **** about, I have so much respect for Gaga for making an album and an era that she truly believes in regardless of how commercial or mainstream it may not be. And the fact that she hasn't just abandoned it because the sales weren't through the roof. Many artists just forget about their albums and eras if they don't sell astronomical numbers.

ARTPOP is a failure on ATRL and amongst few Twitter haters, that's it. Everywhere else it did fine, sold good.
Sure, it did not sell like her other albums, but it's not like the album failed totally. It topped the charts of most important music markets.
And I agree with what you said about believing in ARTPOP.

Then how do u know she did? Did she come out in an interview and said it? Just because they appear on her video doesnt mean she is comparing herself to them.

It's not about what she is and isn't doing. It's about how it could be interpreted by the general public. You may sit there and go "um, no, that's not what she's doing" but you're biased because you love her. Your opinion doesn't reflect how other people perceive that scene. And that scene was just an example. Gaga has an image problem in the media and the public eye at the moment. A lot of people think she's arrogant and an attention seeker. That scene (which again, is just an example) wouldn't help this brand image problem she has. Honestly, I feel like I'm trying to simply enlighten her fanbase on how and why she might be taking wrong turns in her career and all I get is "you don't know what you're talking about, you're a hater, you have no idea, I can't @ you, you're delusional, etc." Then you actually look at her career and see that it's going through a MASSIVE rough patch at the moment (to put it lightly) and it's just a blame game with Monsters. "It can't be G.U.Y, it slays, it can't be the video, it slays, it can't be Gaga, she slays. It must be poor mismanagement, it hasn't been sent to radio yet, it's the media trying to bring her down after building her up, it's the laziness of other monsters."
You can say that's not what Gaga's doing in the video, but it's all about perception. It's like with 'Applause' - YOU hear "I live for the applause. I'm in so much physical pain but they've paid so much to see me for this one night, that I will go out on stage and push through the pain to give this city the best show of their lives, because I love my fans." While the general public hears "I live for the applause, I'm rich and fill up big stadiums and I love how they all cheer for me and give me lots of attention and money and fame." Now, that's not what I think, at all. I want her to get back on top. I'm just saying, not every one views Gaga and everything she does in the same way you do. If they did, they would love everything she did as much as you. People have different opinions of her. Sometimes I voice my own but sometimes I'll also try and interpret how different parts of the general public are perceiving her, and try and justify those opinions, rather than just playing the blame game.

I'm also going to see her next month here so I'm extremely excited because it's my first time seeing her live too! I don't care if she's flopping because I'm always gonna support her.

You're not the only one - I too think ARTPOP is her best album yet.

I never said they did. I said Michael Jackson did. But even still, comparing yourself to some of the greatest historical figures in the human race is a pretty big call. And I know what you're going to say - "she didn't compare herself to those men" - but that's your opinion. As I just said in my previous post, it's all about perception and how that scene is interpreted by non-stans. If she's coming across as arrogant in the media and the general public find her arrogant or pretentious, then thinking that she's comparing herself to 3 of the most important people in human history and 1 of the most important people in religious history isn't going to help.

Doesn't matter what the facts are. What matters is how it's perceived by the public. Are we just going to keep going in circles about this? Because it's exceptionally immature. You understand my point. Her public perception affects her career. If you want her to be on top again, she needs to start changing this public perception.
Even something as simple as going to Coachella and wearing a cool, simple outfit, with denim cut-offs and a band singlet, would have made her so much more relateable. People would have been like "look! There's Lady Gaga! Hey, she's actually pretty down-to-earth and comes to music festivals." Not "there's Lady Gaga, she's up in the clouds and thinks she's changing the world and is so amazing, I can't stand her."
